August 8th, 2009Not a single day passes when the thought of updating the blog doesn’t cross my mind. Just when I sit down to jot down those thoughts I feel totally lost. There is so much happening in and around my life and yet I don’t find the words to write them down. One reason, perhaps, is that life is moving in a FastForward mode and hence there is no time to give a second thought to what just happened a moment ago. But that’s not entirely true. I find quite a lot of free time (according to my standards) than I was having few months ago. I am not complaining because everything good has been happening to me out of nowhere!
So today I decided to finally write down a few words. Again I’m lost as to what title should I give to this post. And what should I write? The latter is easy, because I will stick to my newfound love for incoherent posts, and wil decide about the title later. A good idea will be to search for a random word in dictionary and whatever comes will take the title space
Anyhow, so England were all out for 102 in 4th Ashes test today. I hope they lose. Pakistan finally won a game today and Misbah continues to show that his career is over but for some reason the selectors love him. Yousuf though should be given more chance. He’s an absolute class! Shoaib Malik needs a rest. The youngsters are doing well and Akmal Jr. looks set to have a great future – but you never know how a career is ruined in Pakistan.
I’m not so sure what is happening in the politics of Pakistan but I’m sure its not all that well. The problem of following is that you don’t know who to believe. Just opening up Jang and Dawn presents two different pictures. Who’s biased and who’s neutral?
On my side, the weather in London is killing me. I just dont understand why these people love sun! The summer is not yet fully over and we’re having those hot sunny intervals. The problem with this kind is that you need to carry another layer of clothing for times when the sun decides to hide and it gets cold all of a sudden. My eyesight has weakened further and I’ve entered the -3.00 club (Call for celebrations???).
I will not talk about the academic life, apart from the fact that I’m all set to pass this course. I’m not sure if I wrote it here but our results were released some time ago. Not the grades, only pass/fail from the exams. 25% of the students failed! There was an argument that those close to the pass-fail barrier should be passed. But I have always remained a strong opponent to this theory. If there is a cut-off it should be strictly maintained.
Lately I have been nostalgic. Its amazing that when you do live with your family you sometimes think you irritating your parents are and hoy they keep bugging you incessantly. And when you don’t live with them you start missing exactly those things – and more.
My sis’s daughter, Musfirah, seems to be growing too. I get hundreds of pictures every month. I wanted to upload lots of them on this site but the collection is HUGE – and will require some sorting and management first. So I will just add a few with this post. The baby is quite chubby. Amazingly, parents love to see their babies fat and healthy. When these babies (esp. girls) grow up, these parents (esp. mums) start nudging the girls to shed weight (rightly so) saying – itni moti horahi hai, kon shadi karega tumse?
So the point here is to maintain health of the baby from this early age.
Anyway, that relieves some pressure off my mind. I will leave you guys with a few pics of my bhanji and google a random word as a title.
